i hear the echo of your footprints as they depart
they thump like heavy thuds vibrating in my heart
pounding against the chambers where we once
danced our souls to touch with passionate salience
then loved till we were soaked in our tears of desire
now our love has smothered and killed the fire
memories now locked in my oceanic body deep
in times of sorrow they seep out to escape and weep
those tears now flooding a healing balm of rain
that ease my lonely heart clouded with pain
god cuddles those clouds to rest me in his love
then safely delivers me back to self love
